You may have to switch these out for snow tires when the weather gets even worse so you can keep the footing on the road. The conditions on the road during a bad winter can easily result in slushy snow that creates a mud-like atmosphere. This is hard to maneuver during the torrential downpours. It’s important to be prepared in case of any emergencies you may experience on the road. Always have water or a sports drink handy. Whether it’s a cold or hot day, your body needs to stay hydrated. Also, you need to refuel your electrolytes so you can get through the day.  This may sound a bit odd, but cat litter actually helps a lot. You may be stuck on a road and need it to build extra traction with your tires. In case you do run into a breakdown on the road, flares are useful so people can see you from far ahead. Additionally, you’ll never know if you get stuck in some snow and need to warm up a bit before you get out and shovel around you.

Just make sure you get as far away from the flow of traffic as possible. If you get stuck out in the snow, make sure your tailpipe is clear. You don’t want the exhaust gases to crowd under your car.  By winterizing your car, you’ll be able to help avoid certain things from happening.
